Driving Theory and Hazard Tests
Your driving assessment starts here. Every new driver in the UK must pass a two-part classroom test before taking their practical driving test. The first part and the two parts combined are both simply known as "the Theory Test". We have an overview of the whole process of learning to drive and this page will show you what to expect and how to prepare for your theory test itself.
The driving Theory Test, consists of:
Part 1 Theory Test (45 minutes, multiple choice questions)
Part 2 Hazard Perception (30 minutes, interactive reactions test)
Both take place in the same session, with a short break in between. You may choose which local DVSA office you'd like to attend to take you theory test. Most students of East Coast Automatic choose the Scarborough office, located at 49 Westborough, Scarborough YO11 1UN.
