Our car is the very latest hybrid ‘Yaris’ model from Toyota. This is a brilliant car for new drivers. It’s compact, comfortable, provides great all-round visibility and is light to maneuver. The automatic gearbox is so smooth and seamless that gear changes can hardly be noticed, leaving you to concentrate solely on the basics and the environment around you. The car transitions between its electric motor and extremely efficient petrol engine so smoothly that it’s virtually unnoticeable.

 

The ’ergonomics’ are excellent too, meaning the driving position can be adjusted to feel just right for almost everyone and the basic controls are very easy to find.

 

To provide you with extra re-assurance, it features Anti-Lock Brakes with Electronic Braking Force Distribution, Emergency steering assist, Traffic sign recognition, Lane departure warning and a very easy-to-use reversing camera. Just in case, the passenger side also has a brake pedal, which the instructor can use if necessary. The Euro NCAP rating is five stars. All of this makes for a very safe vehicle in which to learn.
