The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example: name, contact details and date of birth)

  • Health/medical conditions that may be important for us to be aware of whilst you are driving

  • Details of any medication you are taking that may be important for us to be aware of whilst you are driving

 

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You ask us to contact you

  • You wish to make or amend a booking

  • You need to make us aware of a medical/health condition or medication requirement that could affect your ability to drive

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Your bank or payment issuer

  • Any social media that you use to communicate with us, such as but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp.

  • We use the information that you have given us in order to communicate with you about our services and prices

  • Communicate with you about your bookings

  • Be aware of/prepare for/accommodate any medical/health conditions that you inform us of

 

We may share this information with:

  • a qualified DSA Driving Examiner

 

We will never sell information you provide to us.

 

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

When you make an enquiry with us, we keep any of the following personal information that you provide:

  • Your first and last name

  • Your contact details (land line phone number, mobile phone number, email address and home address)

 

This information is stored on your Driving Instructor’s business mobile phone and electronic diary. If you contact us via email or our website contact form, this information is also stored on our email client’s secure server. We keep this information for up to one month after your enquiry or completion of your driving tuition with us.

 

When you book driving tuition with us, we keep the above listed information, plus:

  • Your date of birth

  • Details of any medical or health conditions that may be important for us to be aware of whilst you are driving, which you disclose to us

  • Details of any medication that may be important for us to be aware of whilst you are driving, which you disclose to us

 

This information is kept in a private and confidential folder, or electronically in a password-protected folder. We keep this information until you cease or complete your driving tuition with us.

We will then dispose your information by secure file deletion and cache reset or by document shredding, whichever is applicable.

 

Your data protection rights

 

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
