While you’re learning to drive with East Coast Automatic, we’ll help you track your progress and decide when the right time is to book your practical driving test. This way, you’ll have a good chance of passing first time!

Our calm and patient approach to teaching will put you at ease during each and every lesson. That way, when it comes to the day of your test, the car will be an environment you’ve grown comfortable with.

Most students take their test in our tuition car, as it’s familiar. This is most definitely advisable. Your instructor will pick you up, help you to feel settled with a 1 hour lesson and then wait at the test centre while you’re out with the examiner.

The one-off price for this service is £70 (including the 1 hour lesson prior to the test)

 

Please discuss the date and time with us before booking your test, because we’ll need to make sure we are available for you. In most cases we can accommodate Sunday and Bank Holiday tests but please note the price for our test service on these days is £140 (including the 1 hour lesson prior to the test)

    

A typical test will consist of:

A basic test to prove your eyesight, one 'tell me' question and then the driving part itself that includes some of the manoeuvres you've learned, independent driving and one 'show me' question. The total time is approximately 40 minutes.
